I'm in the midst of stepping outside the fast lane this year and in the slowness of realisation, have come to enjoy my own company and the ordered chaos of nature.

A wild spirit caged in a habitual body I am moored by the known and  comforted by the familiar.  It wasn't always that way but my wit has since dulled by the concrete landscape and air-conditioned office high rise.  In my quiet hours I privately lament this but as the Spring approaches, I forge onward, marching into October with change on my mind and a shadow close behind me.

That was then. When I joined.

Change has flown in on the back of ensuing weeks and has wrenched me from the chair, flinging me into the disjointed universe of all that is yet to be known.  I no longer lament, body finding the road every morning, legs of cement, heart like the motor of a rabid sewing machine so that I can be free of the sludge that has gathered in my flesh.

I am peeling.
Shedding my skin.
I will be the zephyr that signals summer.

No more high rises or concrete, my soul sings at the sight of the owl coming to rest in the Jacaranda and my fate is lined with smiling faces and supportive hands. Great fortunes await me.

I am deeply grateful for the  friends  I have connected with in here thus far.  I am both amazed and utterly delighted that all of them bear traits I secretly admire and I am honoured they are here with me.
